Julia leads the day-to-day operations of the Western Manitoba Women’s Centre with vision, dedication, and a deep commitment to supporting women in our community. As Director of Operations, she ensures that programs run smoothly, resources are allocated effectively, and the Centre continues to grow as a safe and welcoming space for women and their families. Julia combines strong organizational leadership with genuine care, creating a balance between strategy and compassion. Her work reflects the heart of WMWC — advocating for women, fostering connection, and ensuring that every woman who walks through our doors is met with dignity and respect.

Kim

Kim brings both expertise and lived experience to her role as Director of Counselling & Advocacy at the WMWC. She leads with compassion, ensuring women who come to the Centre are met with safety, dignity, and trauma-informed care. Kim oversees counselling and advocacy services that address immediate needs while also building pathways to long-term healing and resilience. She is passionate about breaking systemic barriers, challenging injustice, and creating a space where women feel empowered to reclaim their voice. For Kim, this work is more than a profession — it is a calling to walk beside women and their families as they navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges and rediscover their strength.

Jenny provides vital Indigenous cultural support at the Western Manitoba Women’s Centre, ensuring that women who access services feel connected to traditions, teachings, and community. She brings warmth, wisdom, and grounding to her work, offering guidance through culturally rooted practices that honour identity and healing. Jenny’s presence helps create a space where women feel safe to share their stories, reconnect with culture, and find strength in both their heritage and themselves. Her work embodies the Centre’s commitment to inclusivity, belonging, and respect for the diverse women it serves.

Jamie leads the Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) project at the Western Manitoba Women’s Centre, focusing on advancing equity and creating opportunities for women across the region. She works closely with community partners, funders, and program participants to develop initiatives that challenge systemic barriers and build pathways to empowerment. Jamie is deeply committed to ensuring that women — especially those facing compounding challenges — have access to the resources, advocacy, and support they need to thrive. Her role combines coordination and strategy with a heartfelt dedication to making meaningful, lasting change in women’s lives.

Bhavya ensures the financial health and sustainability of the Western Manitoba Women’s Centre. As Financial Administrator, she manages budgets, oversees reporting, and ensures resources are allocated responsibly to support the Centre’s programs and services. With a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of accountability, Bhavya helps create stability behind the scenes so the WMWC team can focus on delivering frontline support to women and families. Her work combines precision with purpose, ensuring every dollar is managed with care and integrity to maximize the Centre’s impact in the community.

Rosabel provides critical support to Spanish-speaking women who are navigating the impacts of domestic violence. As a counsellor at the Western Manitoba Women’s Centre, she offers trauma-informed care in Spanish, helping clients feel understood, safe, and empowered. Rosabel combines professional expertise with deep compassion, creating a space where women can share their stories, begin healing, and access resources without the barrier of language. Her work ensures that WMWC’s commitment to inclusion is lived out every day, reaching women who might otherwise be overlooked or underserved.

Lucia leads with compassion and accountability as Supervisor & Senior Advocate at WMWC. They oversee advocacy efforts to ensure women facing systemic barriers receive the guidance, resources, and respect they deserve. In their supervisory role, Lucia supports staff and fosters a culture of collaboration and care. As a senior advocate, they walk alongside women through legal challenges, safety planning, and community connections, ensuring no one has to face these struggles alone.

Through her work, she helps young people build resilience, strengthen self-confidence, and develop tools for a brighter future.
