Many of our staff are Protection Order Designates or PODS, that have received specialized training through Justice Manitoba. We assist with applications as well as attend meetings with a Judicial Justice of the Peace. We do offer court accompaniment with clients on other matters that may include domestic violence charges, sexual assault trials as well as issues in family court.
We offer a range of services including trauma-informed counselling, advocacy, Indigenous cultural support, violence prevention, and community programs. Most of our counselling and support services are free of charge, though we do triage to ensure that women who cannot afford other services are prioritized.
Getting started is simple—just reach out to our team. We’ll guide you through intake, connect you with the right program, and help you book your first session. No referral is needed.
Building rapport, clarifying expectations and goal setting are some of the first steps when meeting with our counsellors. There is very often discussion around a safety plan for the client and their families.
All counsellors work within a trauma informed scope of care, meeting people where they are in their journey without judgment.

Yes, but there are parameters and guidelines that we must abide by within the counselling profession. Harm to self, another individual or children is reportable to the proper agencies. This is discussed within the first session so that individuals seeking services are well informed.
Yes. Support groups are usually run twice per year and are a free service. Topics range from building awareness of gender based violence, creating healthy relationships, developing self esteem and forging new relationships within the group.
