Walking beside clients with counselling, advocacy, and programs that empower healing and connection.
We’re a feminist organization dedicated to uplifting women, gender diverse individuals — and their children — across Western Manitoba through trauma-informed counselling, advocacy, and community-led programs. We create opportunities for connection and empowerment while working to challenge systemic injustice and drive meaningful change.
Since time immemorial, women, Two-Spirit, and gender-diverse individuals have been powerful agents of change, creators, and nurturers. We acknowledge that their roles represent the survival and the well-being of their families and culture. As keepers of cultural knowledge, women, Two-Spirit, and gender-diverse relatives safeguard traditions and teachings for the next generation.
We also acknowledge the harm of Colonization upon women, Two-Spirit, and gender-diverse relatives who, through immense suffering, violence and discrimination, have fought to keep and practice their traditions and culture. We honour the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse relatives who are not here.
We stand on Treaty 2 lands and the shared territory of the Dakota Oyate, the Anishinaabeg, and the National Homeland of the Red River Metis. Many other Indigenous peoples call Brandon their home, including the Ininew, Dene and Inuit peoples.
The women and gender-diverse relatives who have shared their history and traditions with us have deeply influenced our work. We are grateful for sharing this space and for receiving their teachings. They empower us with their courage.
